The Heart Behind Rasta Belly Jamaican Restaurant
Rasta Belly Jamaican Restaurant was founded on a legacy of culture, resilience, and authentic Caribbean flavor. Our story begins with two incredible journeys—my father’s migration from Panama and my mother’s from Jamaica—each bringing rich traditions, deep pride, and a love for good food and family.
Growing up, I spent countless days in my grandparents’ kitchen, watching them prepare classic Jamaican dishes from scratch. The aroma of jerk chicken on the grill, curried goat simmering slowly, and freshly baked festival bread filled the air, creating memories that would stay with me for a lifetime. Their cooking wasn’t just about food—it was about love, heritage, and community.
Life eventually took me down a different path. I built a career in banking, raised two wonderful children—my son DeVaughn and daughter Nykia—and faced life’s challenges as a divorced mother determined to provide a strong foundation for her family. When I was unexpectedly laid off from my job, it felt like the end of one chapter—but, in truth, it was the beginning of something greater.
With faith, determination, and the recipes of my childhood in my heart, I decided to follow my passion and open Rasta Belly Jamaican Restaurant after relocating to Enterprise, Alabama. What started as a dream quickly grew into a place where people could come together to enjoy authentic Jamaican cuisine made with love and tradition.
At Rasta Belly, every dish tells a story. From our perfectly seasoned jerk chicken to our rich oxtail stew and homemade sides, we bring the warmth of the islands to every plate. Our mission is simple: to share the bold, comforting flavors of Jamaica and create a space where everyone feels like family.
Welcome to Rasta Belly Jamaican Restaurant—where heritage meets flavor, and every bite feels like home.
